Who’s Doing the Work

A Crew That Knows This Ground

Reading Septic Services was put together to do one thing well: septic work in a region where the geology actually matters. Berks County’s limestone belt means karst — sinkholes, uneven bedrock, water that moves underground in ways it doesn’t in flatter, sandier counties. A crew that treats every yard the same, wherever they last worked, ends up cutting into things they shouldn’t or missing a distribution box that isn’t where the paperwork says it is.

We stuck to this region on purpose. That means our crews have opened tanks on 1920s in-town lots near downtown Reading with no records at all, and installed sand mounds on rural Berks County parcels where the soil depth barely clears code. Knowing both ends of that range is what keeps a job from turning into a surprise.

How We Work

Three Things We Do On Every Job

None of this is complicated. It’s just easy to skip if you’re rushing between jobs, and we’d rather not rush.

📸

We Show You What We Found

Photos of the tank, sludge levels, baffle condition — before we ever tell you what we think you need.

💬

We Explain the Why, Not Just the What

“Your baffle’s cracked” means something different once you know what a baffle actually does. We’d rather you understand your own system.

🌱

We Treat Your Yard Like We’ll Be Back

Utility lines marked, karst-prone spots probed before equipment moves in, openings sealed and backfilled properly when we leave.

Findings Before Recommendations

A recommendation without evidence is just a sales pitch. Every visit ends with documentation of what we actually saw — sludge and scum measurements on a pumping visit, photos of a cracked distribution box before we quote a repair — so you’re deciding based on your system, not our word for it.

Teaching the Mechanism, Not Just the Fix

A homeowner who understands why grease clogs a distribution box is a homeowner who calls us before a backup instead of after. We’d rather spend two extra minutes explaining the mechanism than have you guessing next time something’s off.

Respect for the Property, Not Just the Job

On karst-prone lots especially, where a locate has to be done carefully before any digging starts, rushing isn’t just bad manners — it’s how you end up with a second hole in the yard you didn’t plan for.
